vivetta ponti

VIVETTA is an Italian contemporary brand established in 2009 by fashion designer Vivetta Ponti. Its clothing exudes light-hearted frivolity, while also embodying an air of assertive femininity. The brand finds inspiration in many sources: poetry, dolls, antiques, fifties furniture, and sixties and seventies tapestries, to name but a few. These nostalgic elements are fused with hyper contemporary silhouettes and bon-ton patterns. Clean lines contrast with unexpected details; surreal corporeal presences that add a splash of Vivetta’s characteristic flair to each design. Hand and face detailing are embroidered throughout, forming an integral part of each collection. In Vivetta, a multifarious universe comes together, forming an elegant and dynamic constellation that melds romanticism with irony, surrealism with fashion, and MADE IN ITALY tradition with an unflinchingly modern eye.

Having learnt her trade from Roberto Cavalli, fashion designer Vivetta Ponti created her eponymous brand “VIVETTA” in 2009. Year after year the label continues to grow, as its reputation spreads and its clothing is placed in the world’s most exclusive department stores and boutiques.

Celebrities spotted wearing VIVETTA include Anna Dello Russo, Harley Viera Newton, Portia Freeman, Charlotte Dellal (of Charlotte Olympia fame), UK singer Pixie Lott, Alexa Chung, Cher Lloyd. Many fashion editors and bloggers also love VIVETTA, including Leith Clark from Lula magazine, Elle Italia fashion editor Eva Fontanelli (who was photographed by Scott Schuman, alias The Sartorialist, wearing the brand), and Elle China editor Leaf Greener.

VIVETTA loves cats (and all animals, for that matter), the fifties, the sixties, Surrealism, the Nouvelle Vague, Anna Karina, Mia Farrow, Catherine Deneuve, Barbara Steele, sixties Italian horror movies, collecting old toys, vintage dolls, vintage children’s books, sixties and seventies experimental animation movies (from the National Film Board of Canada and creative minds such as Norman McLaren, René Jodoin, Co Hoedeman, Caroline Leaf, Yuri Norstein, Hermina Tyrlova, Jan Svankmaier, and Jirí Trnka).
